Scholarship Program

 

The 2025 Scholarship Application process is open until April 1, 2025.

Scholarships are available to any Maryland Public High School Graduating Senior.

Patuxent Lodge

Patuxent Lodge sponsors Central, Dr. Henry Wise, Largo and Suitland High School in Prince Georges County as well as Southern High School in Anne Arundel County for the Masonic Charities of Maryland Scholarship Program.   This year Patuxent Lodge awarded scholarships of $500 each toward a accredited college program to a student from Central, Largo, Suitland, Southern, and Dr. Henry Wise High School. Please see all the students selected under the photo section.  
 lf you have a child or if you know of someone who has a child, that is a senior attending a Maryland Public High School, please have them complete an on-line application.   
Scholarship applications must be completed by April 1, 2025, and are only accepted through the on-line application.

1.) All applicants must:

  • Be United States citizens or U.S. permanent residents; AND be a student at one of the schools served by MCM
  • Be senior student in a MARYLAND PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL
  • There is NO NEED to be connected to the Masonic Fraternity to be eligible for the scholarship. Any eligible student is encouraged to apply.

2.) Application Period: December 1, 2024–April 1, 2025

  • Applications must be submitted online
  • Applications will only be accepted during the application period.

3.) Before you begin, you will need:

  • Relevant information pertaining to grades (GPA, Class Rank, Class number)
  • Official School Transcript (if unavailable, most recent report card may be substituted).
  • Letter from a school official (teacher, principal, counselor) detailing student Attributes, Abilities, talents, interests, scholarship, study habits, and probability of success in college or vocational school, need for financial assiatance, and any pertinent or unusual factors which should be considered by the scholarship selection committee. (Must be a PDF)
  • A 300-500 word essay discussing your future educational, career and life goals. Include in this essay any other factors you may feel would be relevant to the Scholarship Selection Committee. (WORD or PDF files accepted)
  • Additional optional documentation (WORD or PDF files accepted)

4.) Initial award selection will be done by Local Masonic Lodges

  • Each school has been assigned to a Maryland Masonic Lodge in their county.
  • Applications will first be judged by the local Lodge Scholarship Committee.
  • Winning applications will then be forwarded to the Masonic Charities of Maryland Scholarship Committee for consideration for higher scholarship amounts.

The scholarship programs are sponsored by the Supreme Council provided by the Scottish Rite Foundation, Southern Jurisdiction, USA, Inc., and through these programs, provide scholarships each year to worthy students who meet the academic and community service requirements. Learn more…
